Internal Committee refuses to release details about Cunningham

[...]
An internal investigation that the House Intelligence Committee has refused to make public portrays the panel as embarrassingly entangled in the Randy "Duke" Cunningham bribery scandal.

The report, a declassified version of which was obtained by the Los Angeles Times, describes the committee as a dysfunctional entity that served as a crossroads for almost every major figure in the ongoing criminal probe by the Justice Department.
[...]

Tell us something we don't know.

[...]
When the committee's investigation was completed last year, the Republican-controlled panel would not release the results; now that the committee is controlled by Democrats, it still will not release the findings.
[...]

That is something we don't know. But you can find out more and let them know...

Carol Lam is mentioned in Gonzales and Rove missing e-mail

Here is the quote.

[...]
Most of the e-mails on the list focused on media coverage of the firings.

One, dated Jan. 13, is described as "Notifying FBI of Union-Tribune (nyse: TRB - news - people ) article re: Lam's resignation and FBI SAC D. Dzwilewski." Carol Lam was the U.S. attorney in San Diego, where Dan Dzwilewski is heading the FBI's local office until he resigned April 30.

Sampson has acknowledged, under questioning by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., that he complained to FBI headquarters about Dzwilewski's contention that Lam's firing was politically motivated.

[...]

Dan Dzwilewski was forced to resign because he spoke out against the firing of Carol Lam, by Alberto Gonzalez's Justice Department. Carol Lam brought down Randy "Duke" Cunningham and exposed a part of the local Contracting lobby/bribe industry set up by Mitchell Wade, Brent Wilkes and their buddy Jack Abramhoff. Jack Abramoff was the one to bring in Dusty Foggo, the Number 3 at the CIA back into the mix for the Strippers and Drugs at the Watergate Hotel.

These e-mails will help prove that the firing was politically motivated as well as punishment for exposing how parts of the Southern California Military Contract lobby directly bribe and support the Southern California Republican Party.

Three House committees will cooperate in Cunningham scandal

I'm a little wary of the subpoenas being withdrawn - but at least the committees agree to cooperate. It could be a change in leadership that caused this?

*COUGH NOVEMBER 7th COUGH*

It looks like two staffers will be questioned as well as three committees - the big ones!

Appropriations, Armed Services and Intelligence.

Who was on Appropriations?! Duke Cunningham CA-50th
Who as on Armed Services?! Duncan Hunter CA -48th
Who as on Intelligence?! Darrell Issa CA-49th

Oooooooooooooh! Some shit is going down!

[...]
Three House committees subpoenaed in connection with the bribery investigation into imprisoned former Rep. Randy ``Duke'' Cunningham and his associates reached an agreement with prosecutors Tuesday allowing the subpoenas to be withdrawn.

Under the agreement, five outstanding subpoenas will be withdrawn and the committees will voluntarily hand over documents in addition to material already provided, according to a statement released by Brendan Daly, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Two committee staffers will appear March 1 before the federal grand jury in San Diego that has been considering evidence stemming from the Cunningham case, Daly said.

The subpoenas were sent in December and January to the Appropriations, Armed Services and Intelligence committees and the two staffers.

Bilbray claims residency in Carlsbad, amid scandal.

Here is what the Democrats have to say...
[...]
The letter, signed by the party's county chairman, Jess Durfee, urges recipients to contact the San Diego County district attorney's office and demand that "more information be made public about this investigation."

But Durfee acknowledged Wednesday that he has no proof an investigation is under way. He said he based the letter to the party faithful on several anonymous phone calls received from people who live in the Carlsbad neighborhood where Bilbray lives with his mother.

"They are people who are either neighbors or friends of neighbors who were called as witnesses," Durfee said.

On Bilbray's signed voter registration forms and his statement of candidacy, he lists his official residence as Carlsbad.
[...]
What does Bilbray say?

Bilbray said Carlsbad is his official residence.

[...]
"That is where I lay my head and that is where my surfboard and wet suit is," he said. "I have day care people (for mom) who will testify to it," he said
[...]
Will Bilbray have a moment like this in the near future?
